Bio
Sarah Mae is a proud Air Force veteran from a wild place called Ohio. Whether performing for thousands of fans in Ohio State's TBDBITL or delighting smaller crowds with improv theater, Sarah’s always committed to mastering her craft. As an actor, Sarah has starred in YouTube series Supermission and her own webseries Kneaded, and has worked on sets like Abbott Elementary and Wild West Chronicles. Last year, she was cast as the lead in Jamie Castro's Pilot Workshop. And this June, Sarah's excited to be directing and starring in her first comedic short film, which she also co-wrote with her writing partner.
As a writer, Sarah's original scripts have won awards like Semi-Finalist for Nickelodeon's Writing Program and top 25 percent for NBC TV Writer's Program. An alum of the WGF’s Veterans Writing Project, Sarah's worked with mentors like award winning writer Simon Rich (SNL, Willy Wonka), and female powerhouses Marlana Hope (Grey's Anatomy) and Kara Lee Burk (Melissa & Joey). Sarah writes comedies/dramedies with heart plus themes of female identity and mental health. Pulling from her own experience with anxiety and depression and surviving a long lineage of alcoholism, Sarah's stories center on messy but strong female leads.
As the living embodiment of a sour patch kid, Sarah’s incredibly lovable. She enjoys singing to her dog, shamelessly reading YA fantasy, and eating Italian food. And yes, cappuccinos are food.
